Parental Rights

The rights of parents to raise their children according to the standards of morality and religion they adhere to is a God-given right. The government should not interfere except in extreme cases where the constitution is violated.

The UN's Treaty Against Parental Rights
Posted May 18, 2015

The Convention on the Rights of the Child
The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is a treaty which appears to protect women and children but threatens parental rights and freedom. Sponsored by the United Nations, 194 nations have accepted it since 1989, including all members of the U.N. except Somalia and the United States. The United States has signed it but it has not been ratified by the Senate. President Obama is in favor of it. At issue are such things as religious freedom, parental rights, homeschooling, abortion, prostitution, the death penalty and life imprisonement for juveniles, adoption, and foreign law (such as Sharia) taking precedence over U.S. law.

Our U.S. Senators need to know we do not want this treaty ratified.

Uniform Interstate Family Support Act
The Uniform Interstate Family Support Act sounds like something that could pave the way for the CRC. The 2008 amendments to the act include the Hague Convention on International Recovery of Child Support and Family Maintenance, of which Muslim countries are signatories.

The concern is that acceptance of this act with these amendments would allow Sharia law to have a place in American courts. There is nothing stated in the act to prohibit foreign law from overriding American law, thus allowing the possiblity of some Americans being unprotected, as well as the danger of giving Sharia law a foothold in American courts.
